Support Freedom of Speech #SupportBrendanEich

The story of Brendan Eich is not alone. There are too many that think that if you have a different opinion than they do, you should not be heard or be employed.
There are those on both sides of the aisle in politics that want the other side to just be shut up and not to be heard. It is more prevalent on the Left side of the aisle though.  Just go and see if you can get a Conservative to speak on a campus of most colleges today.
There are many that think that if you have a difference of opinion you should also not be able to work any job. Brendan Eich is the CEO of Mozilla and donated to the Prop 8  that wanted to define marriage as being between a Man and a Woman. Agree with him or not, but he has a right to his opinion and should not be silenced.
We need to agree that we are not going to agree on every issue and that it is OKAY to have a difference in opinions. We should not boycott or deny someone their livelihood because we disagree with them.
The politics of outrage has become too much in our society today.  Every day there is a new outrage from one side or  the other. And the snark and vitriol comes out and gets nothing done. The United States is a place of diversity and not everyone will agree with everyone on issues.
It is good to debate, but that is a lost cause for many. The mentality of some is "If you disagree with me, you need to be shut up and never heard from again". This is no way to bring more people to your side.
Agree with Prop 8 or not, but we must never let someone get lynched because of their opinions. Brendan Eich should not be fired or forced out of Mozilla because he does not agree with Gay Marriage. That is his opinion and he has a right to it.
